Eire-Colombia World Cup warm-up conflict referred to as off
A pleasant match, that includes Australia’s World Cup opponents Eire in opposition to Colombia, has been deserted after turning into “overly bodily”.
The sport in Brisbane, which was performed behind closed doorways on Friday, was referred to as off after 20 minutes.
“The sport, which was held in Meakin Park, Brisbane, grew to become overly bodily and it was determined, following session with the match officers, to finish the sport,” the Soccer Affiliation of Eire (FAI) stated in a press release.
“The Eire crew then underwent a full coaching session to proceed preparations for his or her opening recreation in FIFA Girls’s World Cup 2023.”
Irish media reported that midfielder Denise O’Sullivan was taken to hospital after struggling a shin harm throughout the match.
Eire are taking part in of their first World Cup which is being co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia from July 20-August 20.
They start their Group B marketing campaign in opposition to Australia in Sydney on July 20 earlier than dealing with Canada and Nigeria.
