Magnitude 6.2 earthquake strikes Auckland Islands

An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 has struck New Zealand’s Auckland Islands, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) says.
The magnitude of Wednesday’s quake was initially reported at 5.7 however was later revised. It struck at a depth of 10km, the EMSC stated.
In April, three earthquakes, one at a magnitude 7.2, occurred within the seas off the North Island.
Probably the most highly effective struck within the Kermadec Islands area.
